Dr. Mostafavi is the founder of Mostafavi Eye Princeton. A board-certified ophthalmologist, he specializes in cataract surgery, uveitis, general ophthalmology, and resident education. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He also currently serves as Chairman of Ophthalmology at Richmond University Medical Center.

Dr. Mostafavi completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate and was named administrative chief resident by the faculty. While a resident, he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical society, an honor given to only a few residents at an academic institution. After residency, David extended his training with a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary under the guidance of Michael Samson M.D. and Sanjay Kedhar M.D., both recognized leaders in the fields of ocular inflammation and corneal disease. Dr. Mostafavi completed his medical school training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

In addition to supervising a level one trauma center for ophthalmic emergencies, Dr. Mostafavi allocates one day a week to teach the latest techniques in cataract and glaucoma surgery to ophthalmology residents and fellows. 

Dr. Mostafavi completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry with a full scholarship at Rutgers University. In his free time, he enjoys Crossfit and spending time with his wife, children, and dog in Princeton, NJ. 


Sini George, O.D., Ph.D.

 

Dr. Sini George is an experienced optometrist who has been proudly serving the Princeton community for over 15 years. Originally from New York, she graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a minor in Biochemistry. She continued her education at SUNY College of Optometry, where she earned her Master of Science, Doctorate in Vision Science, and Doctor of Optometry degree.

Dr. George’s clinical training includes externships at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lyons and Omni Eye Services in Iselin, New Jersey, where she gained expertise in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases. She is certified by the New Jersey State Board of Optometry for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and provides a full range of eye care services, including comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diagnosis and management of medical eye conditions, contact lens fittings, and advanced dry eye therapy tailored to individual needs.

Known for her compassionate approach and dedication to patient education, Dr. George seamlessly blends advanced medical knowledge with a patient-centered approach and takes pride in building lasting relationships with the families she serves. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys exploring creative pursuits, traveling, and connecting with nature.

In private practice since 2001, Dr. Mostafavi started his journey in an accelerated program where he graduated medical school at the age of 22. After completing his medical training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he completed an ophthalmology residency at Boston University Medical Center

Dr. Mostafavi completed a Cornea / Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Duke Eye Center, where he stayed on after, teaching residents and fellows. He is the author of over 15 peer reviewed journal articles, and book chapters. Dr. Mostafavi is a board certified member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is the first to perform LASIK Vision Correction on Staten Island. 

Dr. Ray Mostafavi founded Mostafavi Eye Institute in Staten Island, NY and specializes in cataract and cornea refractive surgery.

Office Manager and Patient Liaison

Rachel Mostafavi is a former educator with over a decade of experience serving elementary and middle school students. As a French instructor for Princeton Charter School, Rachel loved working with young children. She also taught in the ESL program at Princeton Charter School and P.S. 144 (The Family School) in the Bronx, New York.

Now, as Office Manager of Mostafavi Eye Princeton and wife of Dr. David Mostafavi, Rachel has embraced her new role with enthusiasm. She is excited to serve the Princeton community with a nurturing and caring spirit.
